• VW SA reveals its new 2020 GTC race car today (2 July)

Volkswagen Motorsport will unveil its new GTC race car today. The Global Touring Cars (GTC) Championship came to South Africa several years ago, and Volkswagen was one of the automakers who put their support behind the new pinnacle of South African motorsport.

Following a more than successful 2019 season, the team is ready to take on the delayed 2020 season. The new race car will look to build on the success recipe of last year's car and is expected to power the Volkswagen teams to more successes this year.

At the last race of the 2019 season held at Red Star Raceway in Delmas, Mike Rowe, head of VW Motorsport, said: "Motorsport can be both cruel and unpredictable, which makes all of these achievements bittersweet. Whilst we are celebrating a great season this year, we have already started thinking about how to repeat our successes next year."
