PATIALA: In a hard hitting statement BJP state unit in Punjab alleged that the Congress and AAP were misleading the farmers and all the three rules made by the Modi Government were made keeping in cognizance the Swaminathan committee report.
Dubbing the recent statements of the Congress state president Sunil Jhakhar and AAP's Bhagwant Mann is totally "fabricated and malicious", Anil Sareen said that the Central government under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narinder Modi was committed to the uplifting of the economic status of the agriculture sector. "We want to remind that the Congress Party was in rule for ten long years and Mr Manmohan Singh did not bother to implement the Swamithanian report on agriculture." While the BJP has taken the considerations and suggestions of the long forgotten report and tried its best to come up with plans to address the duress in the agrarian sector.
Anil sareen said, "It's ironic that the Congress which is harping against the 'pro farmer' ordinance actually is guilty of letting the Pepsi Company loot and harass the farmers of the state in its previous regime. While the Modi government has itched in black and white that no farmer will ever lose his rights of ownership”, even if he has leased his land for long periods. it's a protectionist ordinance", he observed.
Unfortunately the Congress and AAP have nothing to demonstrate for what they have done for the agriculture sector and now they are in a desperate situation and are misleading the farmers.
Stating that the BJP Central government has given the farmers the right to sell their produce to the highest bidder in the market after 73 years of India’s independence this laudable decision in the favour of the farmers has been taken. While the agriculture minister has repeatedly gone on record that MSP will not be discontinued and the farmers need not worry that their crops will not get buyers.
He also said that the marketing committees will also function as before and "we promise the farmers of Punjab that BJP will stand committed to protect the agriculture of this proud state which has made the country surplus in food."
Stating that the state BJP will be launching an awareness drive and will go to each village in the state and in a personal contact will make the farmers aware of the farmers ordinance.
The BJP leader also reminded that Capt Amarinder Singh government has nearly incorporated the three ordinances in his mandi act in 2017. Wondering that "does he think he can fool all the people at all times", the BJP leader said that the Modi government is a government of governance and goodness. The nation which has more than its half population working in the agrarian sector can never abandon the farmers. The BJP will always remain committed to the betterment of the farmers and will always strive to make agriculture economically remunerative.
