Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi president Akhilesh Yadav LUCKNOW: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday took a jibe at the Yogi Adityanath government as he tweeted a news report stating that ‘Ganja’ (weed) is making headlines these days and cautioned people to be extremely sure of what they consume.
The news report that the Samajwadi Party national president had attached to his tweet is about the recent incident reported from Kannauj where six members of a family took ill after they ate Ganja leaves cooked with soya (Dill) and potatoes mistaking them for Methi (Fenugreek).

It was later revealed that a local resident had given the family weed stating that it was Fenugreek merely as a part of the prank which proved dangerous for the family. All six members had to be hospitalised for two days before they were discharged and allowed to go home.
On Thursday morning, Akhilesh tweeted the news report adding that weed is making headlines these days and wondered if such incidents might lead to a dictate that Ganja (weed) will be called Methi (fenugreek) from now onwards.
