Lockdown in Tamil Nadu: Tasmac liquor shops won’t open on Sundays in July

CHENNAI: All Tasmac liquor shops in Tamil Nadu will remain closed on four Sundays this month (July) in view of the complete lockdown meant to contain the spread of Covid-19.
All district managers have been directed to close Tasmac retail shops on July 5, 12, 19 and 26, said a communication from Tasmac headquarters to its officials said.
Of the total 5,300 liquor outlets in thee state, nearly 4,500 are operating now. The rest, largely located in Chennai and parts of Chengalpet, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts, remain shut.
