Delhi police inspector succumbs to coronavirus

NEW DELHI: An inspector with the Delhi Police Special Cell, suffering from Covid-19 succumbed to the infection on Tuesday night. Inspector Sanjeev Yadav was on a ventilator support for the past fortnight at an east Delhi hospital.
Colleagues said that Yadav, 49, also underwent a plasma therapy but his condition kept deteriorating. He died around 12.30am.
Yadav was posted with the south-western range of the special cell and was decorated with the Police Medal for gallantry during the Republic Day this year. His wife too has been admitted to a hospital after testing positive of the virus. Yadav is survived by his wife and two children.
