The government of India is celebrating its 6th anniversary of digital India - Atmanirbar Bharat - an initiative taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November 2016.

Atmanirbhar Bharat is the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a self-reliant nation. With this, he also announced an economic package of worth Rs 20 lakh crore for the benefit and development of the nation. The Prime Minister, during his nationwide address on 12 May 2020, emphasized the need to enhance India’s competitiveness in the global economy by accelerating the adoption of digital technologies along with appropriate policy measures.
Atmanirbhar Bharat came as an encouragement to MSME by boosting the scope for private investment and participation in building the nation. The program insists more on the Make in India project using a new tagline - Vocal for Local.
With the digital India initiative, the Indian government has incorporated many schemes to promote the wide usage of internet in rural India. Today, with digitisation catching up in all segments, the digital infrastructure, IoT, Cloud, Data Science, 5G, networking, security, and data storage have become the areas of utmost importance with enormous opportunities. During the conference, it is expected that the officials will discuss the implement of digital advancements to contain the COVID 19 crisis.
