The Uddhav Thackeray government of Maharashtra has extended the lockdown till 31 July in view of the increasing cases of corona after Bengal and Jharkhand. Earlier on Sunday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray hinted at increasing the lockdown. So far, 1.64 lakh cases of corona virus have been reported in Maharashtra. The state has the highest number of deaths at 7429.


Corona cases are continuously increasing in Maharashtra. More than 5 thousand new cases were reported here on Sunday. In view of this, the Uddhav government announced a lockdown till 31 July.

CM Uddhav Thackeray had made it clear on Sunday that the lockdown will not be lifted from the state. He said that still positive cases are increasing rapidly. Due to this, the lockdown will not be lifted after June 30. However, the CM also said that it will be relaxed gradually. Before Maharashtra, lockdown has been announced in Bengal and Jharkhand till 31 July.
