NEW DELHI: Union minister of state for external affairs V Muraleedharan on Wednesday accused Shashi Tharoor of lying over the Congress leader's claim of donating Rs 1 crore MPLADS fund to the SCIMST.
The Union minister, in a tweet, claimed that an an RTI plea has "busted" Tharoor's claim.
The BJP leader said the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCIMST) had not received the fund, either for R&D or for the purchase of test kits.

Sharing the RTI document on Twitter, the Union minister further asked the Congress leader to stop "lying".
On April 26, Tharoor had said that he used Rs 1 crore from his PMLADS funds to finance the R&D at the Sree Chithira institute in Thiruvananthapuram.
The Congress leader is an MP from Thiruvananthapuram.
Tharoor had criticised the authorities for delaying the approval for the test kit developed at the SCIMST.
