Boiler Stage-2 at the Neyveli Lignite power plant in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu has exploded. Due to this blast, 4 people have died and 17 people have been injured. The injured have been taken to NLC Lignite Hospital. There is a possibility that casualties may increase. A similar blast took place on May 7, in which 5 people died.
The NLC has its own fire brigade team, which is trying to overcome the situation. With this, a team of Cuddalore district administration has reached the spot to take stock of the situation. The reason for the blast was not known yet.
Atleast 16 people injured many are struck inside the unit-2.

The blast took place on May 7 also
On May 7, the boiler blast took place at the Neyveli power plant. The accident took place in an 84-meter height boiler. At that time the staff and technician were present at 32 meters. The fire wing of the CISF has controlled the fire after the blast. Many people were injured in this accident, in which 5 people died. After this accident, the company said that NLC has formed a 6-member committee to investigate the matter, which will be headed by the general manager. The committee will investigate the entire accident as well as take the necessary steps to prevent such incidents in the future. A month after the May accident, the boiler blast has occurred again.
Let us tell you that Cuddalore has located 180 km from the capital Chennai. Seven units generate 1,470 MW of electricity. A boiler exploded, causing a massive fire. Currently, efforts are underway to control the fire.
