Ever wondered what an outer space smells like? Presenting Eau De Space, a new NASA-designed perfume that gives the common man, a fragrant experience of space.
A crowd-funding was recently launched for the scent on Kickstarter - a global crowd-funding platform and according to the platform, the fragrance was made with an objective to help astronauts get accustomed to the smell of space beforehand. The website states, “NASA created the formula decades ago as a way to train and prepare astronauts for how outer space actually smells. Now, its goal is to share it with the rest of the world”.

The website also revealed that the perfume has been verified by the astronauts themselves.
Peggy Whitson, an astronaut and former resident of the International Space Station, in a 2002 interview with CNN had described the smell and said, “It's kind of like a smell from a gun, right after you fire the shot.”

The fragrance was created and developed by Steve Pearce, who is also the owner of Omega Ingredients. In an interview with CNN, the product manager Matt Richmond said, “Pearce was originally contracted by NASA to recreate the smell in 2008, and it took him approximately four years to develop it."

Allegedly, in addition to the hype building around Eau De Space, Richmond also said that the company will also plan to release a fragrance called the Smell Of The Moon.
