Picture used for representational purpose onlyMUMBAI: The number of recovered staffers in BEST has touched the 500-mark, said Dr Anil kumar Singhal, chief medical officer of the undertaking.
This included majority of drives and conductors while also those from the electricity supply division. The total no. of Covid-19 positive cases was 660 and the recovery rate is 76%.
BEST has now shifted most of its staffers from Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan and Panvel to Greater Mumbai civic hospitals.
"We wanted to shift these patients to Mumbai so that we can take extra care and ensure that they recover speedily," said an official.
A few patients were shifted from civic hospitals to private ones due to unavailability of ICU beds. "Since they were shifted on time to the ICU of private hosptials, they have recovered and most of them have been discharged and are back home,'' Dr Singhal added.
Meanwhile, BEST workers' union continue their stir outside depots to protest against the departmental chargesheets filed against several employees.
