Bandra Police, who has been investigating the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, today recorded the statement of Sanjana Sanghi. Sanjana will be making her Bollywood debut in Rajput's last film, Dil Bechara. She reportedly reached Bandra Police Station in the morning, and her statement was recorded over a period of seven hours.
In addition, the police will be recording the statement of filmmaker Shekhar Kapur in connection with the case. Kapur's statement is crucial in the case to understand details regarding Rajput's professional life as he is someone who had dealt with the late actor professionally. Kapur's statement could further give clarity on issues, if any, that Rajput might have been facing.
After Rajput's death, Kapur had tweeted, "I knew the pain you were going through. I knew the story of the people that let you down so bad that you would weep on my shoulder. I wish Iwas around the last 6 months. I wish you had reached out to me. What happened to you was their Karma. Not yours. #SushantSinghRajput (sic)."

The police had earlier investigated a copy of Sushant Singh Rajput's contract with Yash Raj Films (YRF). As per the contract, Rajput had a three-movie deal with YRF, he was to get Rs 30 lakh for his first film, which would be increased to Rs 60 lakh for the second film provided the previous one was a hit, and then to Rs 1 crore for the third film, provided the second was a hit. However, YRF would be the judge of whether the film was a hit or not.
The first YRF film that Rajput worked in was Shuddh Desi Romance, for which he was paid Rs 30 lakh. His second film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! for which he received a payment of Rs 1 crore.
The third film that Rajput was to do with YRF was titled Paani which was to be directed by Shekhar Kapur. The film's pre-production work had started, according to the statements of some of the YRF officials, recorded by police. Later the film didn't take off due to creative differences between Aditya Chopra and Kapur. Rajput ended his contract and moved out of YRF in 2015 and then started working with other banners.
Apart from the contract copy, the police had last week recorded statements of Ashish Singh, former production head of YRF; Ashish Patil, former talent management person of YRF; and Shanoo Sharma, casting director with YRF.
On Tuesday, Rajput's sister Meetu, along with her husband and Rajput's close friend Mahesh Shetty met police officials.
