Extraordinary moment two trucks collide after slamming the brakes to try and avoid a police patrol vehicle that had stopped to pull over another car

Two trucks have crashed on a busy highway after they tried to avoid a police officer who had pulled over another car.
A truck came to a stop behind a high patrol officer on the M7 highway at Horsley Park in Sydney, NSW just after 3pm on Monday.
The vehicle stopped moving because the officer, in his 40s, pulled over a car and that appeared to have blocked the left lane.
The truck captured the moment a B-double truck crashed into it from behind and pushed it forward which caused it to hit the police vehicle and the car which had been pulled over.

'Police have been told the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command officer was standing next to his car after conducting a traffic stop when he and his vehicle were struck during a collision between four other vehicles,' NSW Police said in a statement.
The officer suffered minor injuries to his back and was taken to Westmead Hospital.

Another five men involved in the accident suffered minor injuries and were also taken to hospitals for treatment and mandatory testing.
Detective Superintendent Paul Glinn said he was relieved the officer injured in the crash was going to be okay.
'On this occasion, thankfully, our officer, who is an experienced officer with 10 years' service in the Highway Patrol, has sustained minor injuries but has a good prognosis and is being supported with welfare and the like from the workplace,' Det Sup Glinn said.

He warned the outcome could have been much worse and referenced the April crash on Melbourne's Eastern Highway in Victoria where four officers were killed.
'Certainly from the footage, the police officer was in the middle of four cars that collided and was struck by a vehicle so it can't really get any closer than that.'
Officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
