Covid-19: One more death, 121 test positive in Kerala on Monday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state on Monday reported one more Covid-19 death while 121 more persons tested positive for the virus, taking the number of active cases in the state to 2,057. As many as 2,229 of the total 4,311 persons infected in the state have recovered from the infection, with 79 persons testing negative on Monday.
The samples of Arasan (55), hailing from Tamil Nadu, who died at Manjeri medical college hospital on June 24 tested positive for the virus on the day. He was engaged in collecting scrap materials in Kottakkal. The number of Covid deaths reported in the state so far is 24, including a Mahe native who succumbed to the infection at Pariyaram medical college hospital on April 11.
Of the new cases, 17 are contact cases, including three health workers and nine CISF personnel in Kannur, while 78 persons came from abroad and 26 persons from other states. This is the 11th consecutive day that the state has reported over 100 cases. Thrissur (26) reported the highest number of cases, followed by Kannur 14, Pathanamthitta and Malappuram 13 each, Palakkad 12, Kollam 11, Kozhikode nine, Alappuzha, Idukki and Ernakulam five each and Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod four each.
Among the recovered patients, 18 are in Kollam, 13 in Kannur, eight each in Alappuzha, Kottayam and Kozhikode, seven in Malappuram, five in Thrissur, four in Ernakulam, three each in Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad and two from Kasaragod.
