BHUBANESWAR: Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday said state like Odisha will get benefit from extension of the food security scheme 'Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana' till end of November.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation today reaffirms his connect with the lives of common citizens of India and his commitment towards the welfare of the poor and the vulnerable. Extension of the scheme till Diwali and Chhath Puja will entail an additional cost of Rs 90,000 crore and provide much-needed assistance to millions of people during the time of festivals," said Pradhan.
He said people should obey the advises of Modi and continue observing all precautions by wearing masks, gamcha, face covers, ensuring social distancing and washing hands for 20 seconds many times a day. "PM Modi has given a call for “Aatmanirbhar Bharat.” Let us all strive to ensure a strong and self-reliant India. Be vocal for local and collectively fight against the challenge of Covid-19," he added.
