Kerala SSLC result 2020: 98.82 % candidates eligible for higher studies
SSLC examination results announced by education minister C Raveendfranath here on Tuesday declared 98.82 percent candidates appeared for the examinations eligible for higher studies.

This shows a 0.71 % jump in the pass percentage, compared to the last year. The school final examinations concluded in the last week of May had to be conducted in a staggered manner following the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions subsequent to it.
As many as 4,22,092 candidates appeared for the examination this year and this 4.17 101 have emerged as eligible for higher studies. Candidates who score at least D+ grade in the examinations are considered eligible for higher studies. There is a significant increase in the number of candidates secured A+ in all subjects. While 41, 906 candidates secured all A+, the same was less by 4572 last year. Announcing the results at a news conference here on Tuesday, the education minister congratulated all students who cleared the examination with flying colours. He said the successful completion of the year' school final examination held in the thick of the pandemic induced crisis was a victory of Kerala society.
Pathanamthitta revenue district recorded the highest pass percentage ( 99.7 %), while Wayanad. recorded the least percentage-95.04 %. Kuttanad education district has achieved the distinction of having clinched100 % victory in terms of students becoming eligible for higher studies. Minister said there were enough Plus One seats available in government and aided schools in the state. ``4.23,975 plus one seats are currently open in our schools while the number of students eligible for higher studies is only 4.17101. There is no question about students not getting admission to Plus One seats this year. Since other board examination results are yet to be announced, the Plus One admission procedure would commence accordingly as all would get a chance for seeking admission in government/aided schools'', the minister said.
The school where the maximum number of students took the examination was P K M M HSS, Edarikode in Malappuram district. As many as 2327 students sat for exams in that school The school where the candidates where the least were Govt HS Thekkekara, Alappuzha ( 2 students), Hassan Haji Foundation International H S Thalassery ( 2 students). Save a Year (SAY) examination would be conducted for students who have not been able to clear the examination in the regular examination. Date for the SAY examination would be announced later.
