Separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani resigns from Hurriyat Conference

The separatist leader released an audio message today saying that he is distancing himself from the Hurriyat Conference.

Separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Monday announced his resignation from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference.

In an audio message released today, Geelani made the announcement regarding his resignation and added that he is distancing himself from the Hurriyat Conference.

He said, "In view of the present situation, I resign from All Parties Hurriyat Conference. I have informed all the constituents of the Hurriyat about the decision."
