Sanjay Yadav was staying with his wife and five-year-old daughter in a rented house for 10 years. Police said Yadav was sleeping with his wife and daughter on the rooftop. Later, they decided to come down. Yadav spotted three youths answering a call of nature near his house. Furious, he countered them, leading to a tussle,” said subinspector Nishan Singh, the investigating officer. The youths called four of their friends. All of them attacked Yadav as his wife was pulling him inside the house with a sharp-edged weapon and smashed a brick on his head, said the cop, “They even thrashed his wife,” he said.
The accused fled. Yadav was taken to civil hospital, Phase VI, where the doctors declared him dead. Police registered a case under Sections 302 (punishment for murder), 450 (house-trespass in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment for life), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon) and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the IPC. No arrests have been made so far.
