As the Central and state governments allow phase-wise relaxation in curbs to get the life up and running again following over two months of lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19, we bring you the latest updates from Mumbai.
*Update at 4.07pm: Maharashtra extends lockdown till July 31.
Update at 3.30pm: Several places in Mumbai witnessed traffic jams on Monday as police enforced traffic restrictions to prevent unnecessary movements of people. Cops created checkposts at multiple locations to ensure people follow new traffic guidelines. Heavy traffic jams were reported at Dahisar, Mulund and Kandivali checkposts. The city police on Sunday had issued directives asking people not to venture beyond 2km from home unless going to the office or for essentials.

*The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) started mapping a list of hot spots to enforce localised shutdowns this week even as Covid-19 cases in the city rose by 341 and settled at 8,168 patients on Sunday. Fatalities increased by 14 to reach 277.
*Twenty three staffers who worked at the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) Nehru Nagar depot in Kurla have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last few weeks, says an MSRTC official
*The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) says it will add over 1,000 beds next month. It said Dombivli will get one more hospital with 30 ICU and 170 oxygen beds for coronavirus-infected patients on July 1
*Central government staffers, including those from income-tax, goods and services tax, customs, defence, postal and banking sectors, will soon be allowed to board local trains to reach their workplace. Though a final date is yet to be decided, both state and central governments have green lighted the request.
*Attendance in offices will be increased from the current 10% and frequency of suburban trains will be increased from 15-20 minutes to 5 minutes from Tuesday.

* Update at 9.43am: 380 deaths and 19,459 new Covid-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours. Positive cases in India stand at 5,48,318, including 2,10,120 active cases, 3,21,723 cured/discharged/migrated & 16,475 deaths, Ministry of health & family welfare
* Update at 8.55am: The total number of samples tested up to 28 June is 83,98,362 of which 1,70,560 samples were tested yesterday: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
*CM Uddhav Thackeray said the state government will inaugurate a centre for plasma therapy today, following which Maharashtra is likely to become the only state to conduct plasma therapy on a large scale
*Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray made it clear on Sunday that the coronavirus-induced lockdown in the state would not be lifted after June 30, but more relaxations would be given to speed up the economy.
*The city police on Sunday issued directives asking people not to venture beyond 2km from home unless going to the office or for essentials. All trips—whether for shopping or exercising or visiting salons—should be made within a 2km radius from home, failing which action will be initiated, the police said.
*All too eager to put behind their disasters with corona cuts and hot wax, Mumbaikars queued up at salons that opened on Sunday after nearly three months.
