Man thrashed by wife in Kolkata, video goes viral

KOLKATA: In a shocking incident of domestic violence, a man was seen being brutally beaten up by his wife at their Salt Lake residence, located on the eastern fringes of Kolkata. The video footage was caught on a web camera of the man's laptop that went viral on the social media on Sunday.
In the video, Deep Majumder, 33, was seen being beaten up by his wife Debjani Sanyal. The duo got married about five years ago. According to police sources, Majumder claimed that he had been suffering from domestic violence for the past four years.
"The man has claimed that he was physically assaulted by his wife on several occasions. His parents were also abused. He has lodged a complaint with the police alleging inhuman torture at the hands of his wife. We are investigating into the matter now," an officer of Bidhannagar (North) police station said.
