There has been an increase in the sales of Kadaknath chicken during the lockdown caused by the corona infection. In just two and a half months, 5 thousand 600 Kadaknath chickens have been sold. According to the district's Krishi Vigyan Kendra and its associated hens, only 400 hens were sold at the same time before the lockdown. According to the scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Karkanath has medicinal properties. Its immunity is high. Because of this it is not infected and develops immunity in people. Breeding of Kadaknath cock was started three years ago in the district.

Chickens and chicks were given to the parents from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra. There are 90 henchwomen associated with the district's Krishi Vigyan Kendra who follows and sells the Kadaknath hens. They are also sold from Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Principal scientist and head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dr. Raj Singh says that there has been a sudden jump in sales of Karkanath in lockdown. The reason for this is the rumor about broiler chickens and the medicinal properties of Kadaknath. The hen keeper associated with the center and the center sold 5 thousand 600 Kadaknath chickens during this period. Whereas in the previous two and a half months only 400-500 hens were sold. During this time, recommendations regarding the availability of Kadaknath also came.

Kadaknath sales were normal before the lockdown, but since rumors arose that normal chickens could be infected, their sales skyrocketed. Kadaknath has more protein than other breeds. It contains fat ranging from 0.73 to 1.05%, while it is found in other breeds from 13 to 25%. Cholesterol is also found to be low due to reduced fat. Also, various types of amino acids are found in large quantities in the flesh of Kadaknath. Vitamins B-1, B-2, B-6, B-12, C, and E are also in greater quantity than other breeds. Due to this, Karkanath chicken is considered to have medicinal properties.
