Project PLATINA, the world's 'largest' convalescent plasma therapy trial cum project in treatment of severe Covid-19 patients, was today launched by the Maharashtra government. It will be world's largest trial cum treatment project in the world where in government intends to benefit and save around 500 lives of critically ill covid 19 patients of Maharashtra.
West Bengal Covid-19 Update | Because of lakhs of medical professionals (doctors, nurses, paramedics) police personnel and other frontline workers are fighting Covid 19 in a selfless manner, as a mark of respect for their exemplary services, the state government has decided to declare July 1 as state holiday. We will request other states to declare a holiday in states as well and will also ask the Centre to declare July 1 as a national holiday, said West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee. Meghalaya Chief Minister Test Negative for Coronavirus | Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma tested negative for coronavirus today. The minister's swab sample was tested first on June 22 and then again on Sunday. "Both the samples were found negative," an official at the Chief Medical Officer's office in Shillong said.

Medical Experts Against Lockdown Extension in TN | Prabhdeep Kaur, Deputy Director, National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE), said the expert medical committee has not recommended lockdown extension in Tamil Nadu citing socio-economic issues and suggested strict curbs in areas where the infection rate are high.

Govt Mulls Reopening of Kartarpur Corridor | "The Pakistan government has offered to reopen Kartarpur Corridor from today. We also want that the corridor reopens but the final decision has to be taken by the Centre keeping in view COVID-19 situation," Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Chief Secretary Dr Roop Singh in Amritsar.

Officials said 37 teams were on the job and people in the containment zones were being thoroughly screened to stall community transmission.
India Now Has 1,047 Covid-19 Diagnostic Labs | This includes 760 in the government sector and 287 private labs. The 11 labs that have been inducted in the last 24 hours are all operated by the government. Here’s the break-up:
• Real-Time RT PCR based testing labs: 567 (Govt: 362 + Private: 205)
• TrueNat based testing labs : 393 (Govt: 366 + Private: 27)
• CBNAAT based testing labs : 87 (Govt: 32 + Private: 55)
The total number of samples tested is showing an uphill trend, and has touched 83,98,362. Yesterday, 1,70,560 samples were tested.
Difference Between Recovered and Active Cases Increases to 1,11,602 | The gap between recoveries and active cases is 1,11,602 as on Monday. So far, as many as 3,21,722 patients have been cured of COVID-19. The recovery rate continues to steadily improve. It has reached 58.67% amongst COVID-19 patients today.

A single-day spike of 19,459 COVID-19 cases took India's tally to 5,48,318 today, while the death toll climbed to 16,475 with 380 new fatalities, according to the Union Health Ministry data. This is the sixth consecutive day that coronavirus infections have increased by more than 15,000. The country has seen a surge of 3,57,783 infections from June 1 till date. The number of active cases stands at 2,10,120, while 3,21,722 people have recovered, and one patient has migrated, according to the updated data. "Thus, around 58.67 per cent of patients have recovered so far," an official said. The total number of confirmed cases includes foreigners.
Delhi recorded 2,889 fresh coronavirus cases on Sunday, taking the tally in the city over the 83,000-mark, while the death toll from the disease mounted to 2,623, authorities said. The number of containment zones in the city also jumped to 417 on Sunday from 315 on Saturday, according to a Delhi health department data. The national capital had reported the highest single-day spike of 3,947 cases on June 23. Recently, Delhi had eclipsed Mumbai as the city worst-hit by the pandemic in the country. Sixty-five fatalities have been recorded in the last 24 hours, the Delhi health department bulletin said. It said the death toll due to coronavirus has risen to 2,623 and the total number of cases mounted to 83,077.
A 52-year-old doctor of the city government-run LNJP Hospital who was in the frontline in the war against COVID-19 died of the disease in the ICU of a private facility on Sunday, officials said. Also, a 53-year-old man, who was employed as a ward boy in the NDMC-run Hindu Rao Hospital, succumbed to the infection, they said. According to the bulletin, 52,607 patients have recovered, been discharged or migrated so far. The number of active cases in the national capital stood at 27,847.
Meanwhile, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s government has decided to extend the ongoing lockdown for another 15 days, from July 1 to 15, in the state, which has so far reported a total of 1,092 cases. The lockdown was supposed to be lifted on June 30. Singh also announced that inter-district bus service will be operational between July 1 and 15 maintaining all Covid-19 safety measures and no other public transport will ply during this period. The decision about continuing with the bus service beyond July 15 will be taken later, officials said.
About the coronavirus situation, the chief minister said the state now has 660 active cases while 432 patients have been recovered and released from hospitals. The testing capacity in Manipur has increased to nearly 2,600 tests per day, he said adding that there is no case of community transmission of the disease in the state. All positive cases are returnees except seven frontline workers who were in direct contact with patients, Singh said.
