Haryana: Beautician murdered, body found stuffed in bed

CHANDIGARH: In a shocking incident, a jilted lover allegedly murdered a beautician at her salon and stuffed the body in a bed. All this came to light on Sunday, when the other associate opened the salon to stringent smell. She has been identified as Shivani, who was in her 20s. She was running the salon with her elder brother and a friend in TDI City of Sonipat's Kundli area.
The body was recovered on Sunday afternoon with strangulation marks on the neck. Police have arrested Aarif Mohammad, a local youth in a case of murder, destruction of evidence and SC/ST Act registered at Kundli police station.
"Aarif has confessed to the crime. He not only murdered Shivani, but had been using her phone and was chatting with her family on social media platforms throughout the night of murder. He will have to undergo Covid-19 test before being produced in court,’’ said DSP Virender Singh, the supervising officer of the case.
According to information, Shivani was younger in two sisters. Both the sisters were running a saloon with her elder sister’s associate Neeraj who lived there in the saloon only.
According to investigations, Shivani was allegedly murdered on Friday evening or night hours. Her sister had gone home and she chose to stay back. Neeraj too was out of station that night.
"Aarif used the dupatta to strangulate her to death, As she died he stuffed the dead body in the bed used by Neeraj. Next day family launched search for her. Meanwhile, on Sunday, the smell had started coming from the room. Neeraj was first to notice and as he opened the bed he found Shivani’s body,’’ said DSP Virender Singh,
Shivani’s family was called and they elaborated as to how Aarif used to trouble her. Meanwhile, we launched the search for him and he was apprehended on Monday morning, the DSP added.
Meanwhile, sources informed that police is also exploring as if her murder was linked to any social media accounts as well.
Shivani was quite active on a TikTok app and had a good amount of followers.
