Islam's holiest city usually hosts millions of pilgrims for the annual rite, butthe kingdom has barred overseas visitors from this year's event, scheduledfor late July. The novel coronavirus has hit the kingdom with the highest number of cases in the Gulf -- more than 178,000 confirmed infections including 1,511deaths.But scaling the pilgrimage back will deepen the kingdom's economic slump, analysts say.
