EU finalizing virus 'safe list,' US unlikely to make the cut
The European Union is edging toward finalizing a list of countries whose citizens will be allowed to enter Europe again in coming days, with Americans almost certain to be excluded in the short term due to the number of US coronavirus cases. Spain's foreign minister said that the list- which is likely to be made public Tuesday _ could contain 15 countries that are not EU members and whose citizens would be allowed to visit from July 1.
India's Covid-19 recovery rate reaches 58.67%
India's coronavirus recovery rate has reached 58.67 per cent as the gap between recoveries and active cases stands at 1,11,602, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. "The gap between recoveries and active cases is 1,11,602 as of today. So far, as many as 3,21,722 patients have been cured of COVID-19. The recovery rate continues to steadily improve. It has reached 58.67% amongst COVID-19 patients today. During the last 24 hours, a total of 12,010 COVID-19 patients have been cured. Presently, there are 2,10,120 active cases and all are under active medical supervision," said a release by the ministry

Greater Hyderabad likely to shut for 15 days to curb Covid-19
Health department sources said the government has already firmed up its plans to shut down the city for two weeks, but Sunday’s announcement was to prepare people for stricter enforcement soon. “If lockdown is imposed, it should be implemented strictly and totally. There should be a day-long curfew with one or two hour relaxation to buy essentials. Flights and trains have to be stopped. All arrangements should be made by the government. Hence, we will examine all issues and take a decision,” CM KC Rao said.
Ex-gratia of Rs one crore to family of LNJP doctor who died fighting Covid: Delhi CM Kejriwal
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1 crore for the family of a senior doctor of the city government-run LNJP Hospital who died battling COVID-19, and said the society has "lost a very valuable fighter." The 52-year-old doctor served in the front line of the war against the pandemic at the government facility, and died of novel coronavirus infection in an ICU of a private hospital on Sunday. "Dr Aseem Gupta was a senior doctor, and was serving COVID patients for the last few months with his duty being in the ICU. His colleagues speak about the dedication and commitment with which he served patients," Kejriwal said in an online press briefing.

IIT-Gandhinagar team develops AI-based tool to detect Covid-19 using chest X-rays
The online tool, which indicates the probability if a person is infected with COVID-19, can be used for quick preliminary diagnosis before the medical test. It is being tested by the Indian Institute of Public Health. The IIT researchers pooled the data of X-ray images of COVID-19 infected patients as well as healthy persons from different sources available on the internet. They trained a machine learning architecture using deep learning algorithms with these images.
