Tuned McLaren 720S With 980 HP At The Wheels Is An 8-Second Car

This bright purple McLaren 720S takes what is already an extraordinarily fast supercar and turns it into a hypercar-beating monster.

Recently featured on an episode of Ridiculous Rides on the Barcroft Cars YouTube channel, this modified 720S is owned by Wheels Boutique in Miami, Florida.

Off the bat, it’s worth pointing out that the video’s title claiming this McLaren can hit 217 mph (349 km/h). Given that the stock 720S has a top speed of 212 mph (341 km/h), that’s hardly surprising. What is, though, is the fact that it can allegedly sprint down the quarter-mile in the 8-seconds range.

While the representative from Wheels Boutique in the video doesn’t provide all that many details about the modifications the supercar has been through, he does say it features an aftermarket exhaust and pumps out 980 hp at the rear wheels, meaning it could have upwards of 1,100 hp at the crank.

During filming for this video, the car was taken to a drag strip to see what it could do. The fastest time recorded down the quarter-mile by a stock 720S is 9.9 seconds. This example set a 9.4 seconds time, but that run was impacted by hot weather and, as mentioned, the car has previously set an 8.9-second quarter mile.
