ASSONET - Crystal Springs, a non-profit organization that provides programs and services to individuals with disabilities and complex medical conditions, canceled its annual Celebrate Spring fundraiser due to COVID-19, but still found a way to honor members of the community with service awards.
CEO Kathleen Lovenbury presented former mayor and state representative Robert Correia with the Crystal Springs Public Service Award and Kenneth Rezendes with the Eunice Brayton Distinguished Service Award.
A representative from Sen. Michael Rodrigues’ office, Rep. Carole Fiola and Alan Silvia presented Correia and Rezendes with citations from the delegation which would have been presented at the fundraiser.
Correia was recognized as an outstanding individual who has had a distinguished career in public service; and commitment to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
Rezendes was recognized as an outstanding individual and leader who has supported Crystal Springs in many different ways over the past three decades, displaying unyielding dedication to improving the quality of life of the children and adults who live and learn at Crystal Springs.
Crystal Springs provides residential special education and adult residential and day habilitation services. Its main campus is located at 38 Narrows Rd. in Assonet.
