Delhi Conducts Highest No. of Tests in a Day: CM | Delhi conducted 21,144 Covid-19 tests on Friday, its highest number of tests in a single day. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal says, the Delhi government has increased its testing capacity to 4 times and is now following a strategy of very aggressive testing and isolation.

43 New Cases in BSF | 43 new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in BSF to 911. Total 633 BSF personnel have been cured and discharged till now, says Border Security Force (BSF).

India Tally Crosses 5L With Biggest 1-day Rise of 18,552 Cases | India crosses 5 lakh mark as it reports highest single-day spike of 18,552 new Covid-19 cases; 384 deaths in last 24 hours. Positive cases in India stand at 5,08,953 including 1,97,387 active cases, 2,95,881 cured/discharged/migrated and 15,685 deaths: Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

Agra Death Toll Rises to 85 | One more fatality takes Agra's Covid-19 death toll to 85, with a total of 1,184 corona cases in the Taj city, while 991 patients have so far been discharged upon recovery, say health officials. The number of active cases now is 109, according to the district magistrate PN Singh. The total number of samples collected so far is 20,610. Health department officials say, efforts are being made to increase the daily size of samples, particularly in the 64 hotspots.

During CM BS Yediyurappa's meeting with Bengaluru MLAs, one of them suggested complete lockdown on Sunday and imposition of night curfew (which already exists as per MHA guidelines). The chief minister is yet to take a final decision on this. Since Sunday is not a working day, lockdown will not be an issue but since businesses open on Sunday, it is not advisable and the Karnataka government is unlikely to go for it, says a source. Also, additional guidelines from the state government is expected only after post Unlock 1.0.

Nearly 80L Samples Tested so far: ICMR | 2,20,479 RT-PCR samples tested in last 24 hours. A total of 79,96,707 samples have been tested till date: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Egypt Secures $5.2 billion IMF Loan | The International Monetary Fund approves Egypt's request for a $5.2 billion loan as the country's economy reels from the financial fallout of the coronavirus pandemic. The one-year arrangement, which comes on top of a separate $2.77 billion emergency financing announced last month, aims to boost Egypt's social spending, spur job creation and advance structural reforms to "put Egypt on a strong footing for sustained recovery," says the IMF.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi says the Centre has no plan to defeat coronavirus as it continues to spread rapidly into new parts of the country. PM Modi is silent, he has surrendered and is refusing to fight the pandemic, says Gandhi.

Australia's response to the coronavirus crisis remains "on track" despite a spike in the number of cases, says Prime Minister Scott Morrison. The National Cabinet, which comprises Morrison and state and territory leaders, agrees to continue easing Australia's coronavirus restrictions despite an uptick in cases in Victoria. So far, a total of 7,595 Covid-19 cases have been reported in Australia, with 104 deaths and 6,958 recoveries, according to Department of Health.

New System of Reporting Covid-19 Deaths: BMC | There will be a new system of reporting Covid-19 deaths on a Google Form from July 1. Nodal Officers of the Hospital are directed to ensure death reporting within 48 hours from their hospitals from July 1 onwards: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Global Cases Top 97 Lakh, India at 4th Spot | The overall number of global Covid-19 cases tops 97 Lakh, while the deaths were nearing 5,00,000, according to the Johns Hopkins University. The total number of cases stand at 97,76,963, while the fatalities increase to 4,93,609, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) reveals in its latest update. With 24,67,658 cases and 1,25,046 deaths, the US continues with the world's highest number of Covid-19 infections and fatalities, followed by Brazil (12,74,974), Russia (6,19,936) and India (4,90,401).

Doctors at Delhi Hospital to go on Strike | Doctors and paramedical staff of Delhi's Hindu Rao hospital will go on strike from 10 am onwards. Doctors say the hospital is turning into a dedicated COVID care facility without any notice to them. They demand timely payment of salaries, proper PPEs, saftey gear, installation of ACs, provision of meals, etc.

Reporter at Trump's Tulsa Rally Tests Positive | A journalist who attended President Donald Trump's rally in Tulsa last week has says he has tested positive for Covid-19. He was inside the rally for about 6 hours at the BOK Center and that he wore a mask and mostly practised social distancing, except for when he went to the concourse to get a snack. He said he was never close to the president. Six of Trump's campaign staffers and two members of the Secret Service working in advance of the Oklahoma rally also have tested positive for Covid-19.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant says, we are getting cases from all across the state. We will have to say there is community transmission, we have to accept it.

Bihar Tally Rises to 8,678 | Bihar registers 190 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the Covid-19 count in the state to 8,678. The state now has 1,953 active Covid-19 cases in 38 districts. While 6,669 patients have recovered from the disease in Bihar, 56 people have died of it. The number of samples tested for the disease in the state till date is 1,89,643, say officials, adding that the testing capacity has been constantly augmented.

Mainland China Reports 21 New Cases | Chinese health authority say it received reports of 21 newly confirmed Covid-19 cases on the Chinese mainland, including 17 domestically transmitted and four imported ones. All the domestically transmitted cases have been reported in Beijing, says the National Health Commission in its daily report. No deaths related to the disease have been reported.

Jharkhand Extends Lockdown Till July 31 | The Jharkhand government extends lockdown in the state till July 31 to contain the spread of Covid-19. The extension order shall come into force with immediate effect, says Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, adding that the movement of individuals shall continue to remain prohibited between 9 pm and 5 am. Interstate and intrastate bus services, hotels, lodges, inns and dine-in restaurants will not be in operation during this period. Spas, salons and barber shops will also continue to remain closed till July-end.

In Northwest district, where the exercise has been concluded, there has been a rise in the number of containment zones from 21 to 28, an official said.

Nearly 1,000 New Cases in Telangana | 985 Covid-19 new cases, 78 discharged and 7 fresh deaths have been reported in Telangana. Total number of cases in the state is now at 12,349, including 7,436 active cases, 4,766 discharged and 237 deaths: State Health Department.

Assam Tally Nears 7,000-mark | 273 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in Assam, taking the total number of cases in the state is to 6,919, including 4,247 discharged, 2,660 active cases and 9 deaths: Himanta Biswa Sarma, State Health Minister.
