HYDERABAD: Two 14-year-old boys drowned in a pond in Chandrayangutta limits on Friday. One of the victims' body was recovered on Saturday early hours.
Syed Raheem and Shaik Sohail, both residents of Noorinagar and class 8 students along with two other friends went to Nawab Sagar, a private owned pond at Umda Hills in Ghouse Nagar on Friday at around 2.30pm.
"The kids were playing on the shallow water of the pond and while playing two of them, Raheem and Sohail, moved towards the deeper side unknowingly," said Chandrayangutta SI, S Venkatesh.
The duo accidentally drowned while swimming. One of their friends, Mohammed Nadeem, a resident of the same locality alerted the parents. "Raheem's body was recovered by locals on Friday, while Sohail's body was found in early hours of Saturday," added the officer.
The bodies were shifted to Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad for an autopsy and later handed over to the families on Saturday. A case of suspicious death case was registered.
