The distribution of the immunity booster was officially launched by Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza in the presence of Mapusa municipal council chairperson Ryan Braganza, chief officer Kabir Shirgaonkar and councillors.

Dr Vishal Verenkar from AIS Clinic handed over the pills to the civic body. The pills will be distributed to each and every house in the municipality jurisdiction, besides even to the municipal staff, workers, traders and vendors in the market area.

Interacting with media persons, Braganza said every house in all the wards will be provided with the medicine, which will be handed over by councillors along with a
supervisor.

“Mapusa municipal council is the first council in the state to take up such an initiative. AIS Clinic has collaborated with the council to provide the immunity booster to the Mapusa population,” said the civic body chairperson and added that the medicine costs around Rs 11 per person. “The medicine will be given to around 50,000-60,000 people in the council jurisdiction totally costing the civic body around Rs 5.50 lakh,” Braganza said.

Dr Verenkar said the Ayush Ministry has recommended ‘Arsenic Album 30’ as a preventive measure, as the medicine boosts the human immunity system to fight COVID-19 infection.

“The doses are to be taken for three days, each day in the morning, on an empty stomach, and the medicine is safe for all age groups. It has to be taken for three days only and if need arises, one can repeat the dose after a month,” said Dr Verenkar.
