Akali Dal raises objection on registration of pets started by Ludhiana civic body

LUDHIANA: While taking a dig at the recently launched online registration of pets by Ludhiana civic body, district president of Akali Dal, Ranjit Dhillon has advised mayor Balkar Sandhu to add more taxes on public so that he may be called the 'mayor of taxes'.
Dhillon condemned Congress for imposing pet tax on the public in city, that too when people are already passing through a tough phase. He said instead of putting burden on people with more taxes, mayor should take Akali Dal along whose members would help him in raising funds for the development works.
While issuing a press statement, Dhillon said people have become unemployed and are upset with the ongoing coronavirus crisis and Congress leaders have brought another burden for the public in the form of this tax where people who have kept dogs or cats at home will have to pay Rs 400 annual tax to the civic body. Dhillon said already there are taxes like professional tax, rising bills of electricity, cow cess, bills for submersible, tax on roadside vendors etc and if these could not help the Congress leaders in doing development in city they brought this pet tax.
He said Akali Dal strongly condemns this tax and will register protest against it. He said in the coming elections people will show mirror to the Congress leadership because they have not given a single facility to public rather imposed taxes and looted them.
