Stating that the common man was feeling the pinch of fuel price hike, the Goa Pradesh Youth Congress Committee on Saturday demanded from the government to roll back the hike at the earliest.

The members of the GPYCC led by its president Varad Mardolkar and party’s general secretary Amarnath Panjikar protested in Panaji against the hike in fuel prices in a unique way by pulling a four-wheeler using a rope.

Mardolkar claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led central government has earned Rs 18,00,000 crores in the last six years by an increase in excise duty on petrol and diesel alone.

The GPYCC has forwarded a letter to the President of India Ramnath Kovind through the office of the Governor Satya Pal Malik seeking immediate relief for the common man by abolishing the taxes
on fuel.
