Ludhiana: Couple end their lives in Khanna

LUDHIANA: A couple allegedly married to two different persons, who were having "affair" ended their lives after consuming some poisonous substances near Libra village of Khanna on Ludhiana Khanna highway on Friday afternoon. The deceased were identified as 37-years-old Ravinder Nath Singh of Guru Harkrishan Nagar Malerkotla road Khanna, who was a farmer and 36-years-old Mukko of Khanna Khurd, who was a homemaker.
Police officials said that both Ravinder and Mukko were married to different persons for last many years and the duo had two daughters and one son each. They added that about a year after their respective families came to know about their relation tension brewed between the two families.
Cops said that matter got so worse that a prominent person had to come forward and work out a compromise between the two parties. They added that as per the plan, they got together at a place and consumed poisonous substance there.
Police officials said that after consuming the poisonous substance Ravinder informed his wife on phone. They added that the wife of the deceased reached the spot and saw the duo in unconscious condition near Libra village on Ludhiana Delhi National Highway after which she informed police.
