P Jayaraj and J Beniks CHENNAI: Actors, activists, sportspersons and others turned to Twitter seeking justice for father- son duo P Jayaraj and J Beniks who died under judicial custody in Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu.
The hashtag #JusticeForJeyarajAndFenix has been trending on Twitter since Thursday evening. Most of these tweets contain pictures of Beniks*, which reveals his injuries.
Indian cricket team’s opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan tweeted, “Horrified to hear about the brutality inflicted upon Jeyaraj & Fenix in Tamil Nadu. We must raise our voice and make sure justice is given to the family.”
Film industry icons across the country have raised their voice against the brutal incident. "This is tragic & absolute national shame. It sends shivers down my spine even reading about it. We all must stand together against this barbaric brutality," tweeted Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh.
"Will we and can we see law taking its course and punishing the guilty without any further delay in #Jeyaraj and #Fenix case? The culprits cannot and should not getaway. A family has lost their most loved ones. Justice delayed is justice denied," Tweeted actor Khushbu Sundar
"No one is above the law, justice must be done for this inhuman act," tweeted actor Jayam Ravi.
Actor Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's tweet stated, "When it's wrong..ITS WRONG...no matter who it is..extremely shocked at the behaviour #Sathankulampolice There's no solace for their family..#JusticeForJeyarajAndFenix we can't blame the entire police force..those 2 frustrated sadistic men have to be punished...RIP."
