89 New Coronavirus Cases in Chhattisgarh | The number of coronavirus cases in Chhattisgarh increased to 2,545 after 89 more people, including seven Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, tested positive for the disease today. 

Covid-19 Positive Telangana Head Nurse Dies | A head nurse working with a state-run hospital died on Friday while undergoing treatment for the novel coronavirus. The woman, who had been on medical leave for about 20 days, is suspected to have contracted the virus when she attended a private function in a neighbouring district, police said. 

The government said increasing health infrastructure to meet the growing numbers and stricter enforcement of social distancing and mask-wearing norms are the only way forward.

136 New Covid-19 Cases in Noida | Gautam Buddh Nagar, which has the maximum active coronavirus cases in Uttar Pradesh, recorded 136 new patients. The total number of cases reported in the district stands at 1,946 (887 active cases, 1,039 discharged cases, 20 deceased).

Rajasthan Reports 364 New Coronavirus Cases | A total of 364 people new coronavirus cases were reported in Rajasthan, taking the total number of positive cases to 16,660. One person died of the infection taking the death toll to 380.

HP Records 11 New Covid-19 Cases | Eleven more people tested positive for coronavirus in Himachal Pradesh today, taking the state's total tally of cases to 851. 

UPDATE | Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray held a special meeting in Mumbai today to address the issue of rising cases in Thane. The district administration was asked to do aggressive contact tracing and the municipal corporation was ordered to actively implement three-tiered structure of Covid treatment. Thane guardian minister Eknath Shinde shared challenges faced by administration in the implementation of Covid-19 rules. 

A total of 44 cases were detected during the day, taking the COVID-19 count to 1,039, while the number of active cases was 667, a health official said.

West Bengal Records 542 New Positive Cases | A total of 542 people tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours in West Bengal, taking the state tally to 16,190. Ten fatalities took the death toll to 616. The tally includes 10,535 cured/discharged and 5,039 active cases. 

Delhi Records 3,460 New Covid-19 Cases | Health bulletin shows Delhi recorded 3,460 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of cases to 77,240, while the death toll reached 2,492 after 63 fatalities in the last 24 hours. The tally includes 47,091 recovered/cured cases and 27,657 active cases.  

While the increase is believed to reflect, in part, greatly expanded testing, experts say there is ample evidence the virus is making a comeback, including rising deaths and hospitalizations in parts of the country.

Goa Covid-19 Update | Forty-four new coronavirus cases were reported in Goa today, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 1,039. The tally includes 667 active cases and two deaths, as per the latest health bulletin. 

MP Reports 2013 New Coronavirus Cases | Madhya Pradesh reported 203 fresh coronavirus cases and 4 deaths today, taking the total number of infections to 12,798. The tally includes 2,448 active cases while the death toll rose to 546. 

Texas Orders Shutdown of Bars Amid Surge in Virus Cases | Republican Governor Greg Abbott shut down bars in Texas today and scaled back restaurant dining as the US state reported 17,000 confirmed new cases in the last three days. Abbott also ordered shutdown of river sport activities and said outdoor gatherings of 100 people or more must be approved by local governments.

Maharashtra Records 5,024 New Virus Cases | A total of 5,024 coronavirus cases, the state's highest single day rise, were reported in Maharashtra today, taking the total number of infections to 1,52,765. The death toll reached 7,106 after 175 new fatalites. Of the total number of cases in Maharashtra, Mumbai reports a total of 72,175 cases alone.

Gujarat Records 580 New Cases | A total of 580 coronavirus cases and 18 deaths were reported in Gujarat in the last 24 hours, taking the state tally to 30,158 while the death toll reached 1,772, The tally includes 22,038 discharged/cured patients. 

J&K Confirms 213 New Virus Cases | Health officials recorded 213 new Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir today:  58 from Jammu division and 155 from Kashmir division., taking the total number of cases to 6,762. The death toll is at 91. 

Uttarakhand Covid-19 Tally Update | The total number of coronavirus cases reach 2,725 in Uttarakhand, after the state reported 34 new cases today. 

Delhi Covid-19 Update | At least 2,000 beds out of 10,000 bed capacity in Sardar Patel COVID Care Centre and Hospital at Radha Soami Satsang Beas have been made operational. The facility will function as an isolation centre for mild and symptomatic Covid-19 positive patients. (Image: ANI)

NHRC Employee Dies of Coronavirus | An employee of the National Human Rights Council (NHRC) has died of the novel coronavirus while 17 others have been infected by the novel coronavirus till date, sources told PTI. 

Punjab Sees Surge in Covid-19 Cases | Health officials reported a total of 188 new coronavirus cases in Punjab today, taking the total number of cases to 4,957. The death toll stands at 122. 

Haryana Covid-19 Update | A total of 421 fresh Covid-19 cases were recorded in Harayana today, taking the total number of cases to 12,884. The tally includes 4,657 active cases. The death toll stands at 211.
