Man hangs self, leaves video accusing employer of torture

Ranchi: A man committed suicide by hanging himself from the fan at his home in Rajnagar area on Wednesday night and left behind a video alleging he was tortured by his employer. Mukesh Kumar (26) worked in a furniture shop near Indira Gandhi chowk under Chutia police station area.
On Thursday, the deceased’s brother handed over the video clip to the police personnel investigating the case. Police said Mukesh made the video minutes before hanging himself. Sources said that the employer blamed Mukesh for secretly selling plywood worth Rs 3 lakh from his shop and was applying pressure on him to pay back the amount.
City DSP Amit Singh said, “The police have registered a case against the employer under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) based on the statement by a relative of the deceased. Investigating is going on and the accused is absconding.”
