PM needs to take people into confidence on China matter: Congress

Congress party leaders including the Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, GPCC president Girish Chodankar and party workers paid tributes to the martyrs of Ladakh at Azad Maidan in Panaji by observing  ‘Shaheedon Ko Salaam Divas’ on Friday.

South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha was also present to pay homage to the 20 Army soldiers who lost their lives in Galwan Valley clash with Chinese troops in Ladakh.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government should listen to the appeal made by the Congress president Sonia Gandhi and former president Rahul Gandhi and take all the people into confidence to teach China a lesson,” Girish Chodankar said, speaking on the
occasion.

He said that Congress party will support the government on issues pertaining to nation’s security
and safety.

Digambar Kamat said that the Indian Army is capable of protecting the country’s borders and giving a befitting reply to the enemy.

“I pay my homage to all the brave soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation. The entire nation is standing behind our armed forces. The Prime Minister should not hide anything and take each citizen of the country into confidence,” Kamat said.

MP Francisco Sardinha appealed to all to stand united against India’s enemy nations.

The Congress party leaders and workers offered floral tributes and lit candles at the Martyrs memorial to pay tributes to the soldiers who laid down their lives.
