GHAZIABAD: The district court has been shut for 14 days till July 9 after two lawyers tested positive for Covid-19. The lawyers are from New Shatabdi Puram and Gandhinagar.
On Thursday, the Bar Association wrote to the district judge stating that the lawyers had tested positive and urged the judge to pass a sealing order for carrying out a sanitisation drive. According to the letter, one lawyer came to court till June 20, while the one worked till June 10.
After their reports came positive, they were shifted to
Covid Hospitals in Sahibabad and Modinagar.
Subsequently, the district judge wrote to the chief medical officer and sought a report on the action to be taken in the containment zone.
CMO Dr NK Gupta has recommended that as more than one person has been infected, it would be better to seal the entire premises for 14 days and declaring the area as a containment zone. The premises and the court should be sanitised in the two weeks.
