Isolation
Isolation restrictions had eased, but George was reluctant to venture back into the world. Memories of masked citizenry provoked anxiety, while his scar from a toilet roll skirmish (the strength of that woman!) itched disconcertingly. Besides, isolation was great!

Cocooned inside his small apartment, he felt safe and productive. He’d devoured The Sopranos, he’d made semi-edible bread, and his latest attempt to read Ulysses had been his most successful failure yet.
“Aren’t you sick of your own company?” a friend texted after George declined another invitation.
“No,” George replied. “Honestly, George and I are getting along better than ever.”
