Modi's Atmanirbhar Rojgar Abhiyan HIGHLIGHTS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Uttar Pradesh government's ‘Atmanirbhar UP Rojgar Abhiyan’ as the Yogi Adityanath government looks to help migrant workers.

Atmanirbhar Rojgar Abhiyan HIGHLIGHTS: The scheme is being launched by the Prime Minister virtually through video conference in the presence of UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

Modi’s Atmanirbhar Rojgar Abhiyan HIGHLIGHTS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Uttar Pradesh government’s ‘Atmanirbhar UP Rojgar Abhiyan’ today as the government looks to help migrant workers. Over 1.25 crore migrant workers and labourers across 31 districts in Uttar Pradesh who lost their jobs due to coronavirus pandemic are likely to benefit from this unique initiative. The scheme has been launched by the Prime Minister virtually through video conference in the presence of UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath. During the event, PM Modi talked to people from Uttar Pradesh state who have benefitted from various government schemes such as PM Awas Yojana, Shramik special trains and MUDRA Yojana etc. He also appreciated the state government’s efforts to combat coronavirus and aiding PM Modi’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. PM Modi said that Uttar Pradesh has become a peaceful state and has also become attractive to global investors. With the announcement of making Kushinagar Airport international, the government hopes that the region will soon generate employment for youth. Other than providing direct jobs, Atma Nirbhar Rojgar Yojana also aims at promoting local entrepreneurship. It will also encourage industrial associations and other organisations to create employment opportunities. The UP Rojgar Abhiyan is in addition to the Centre’s schemes being run under the Atmanirbhar Bharat programme to bolster various sectors. The 125-day campaign will provide employment to migrant workers and others in the state.
