NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi, who has criticised Congress several times in the past for imposing Emergency, made no mention of the party in a tweet on Thursday but hailed those who fought against it.
"Forty-five years ago this day, Emergency was imposed on the country. I salute all those who struggled to safeguard democracy at the time, those who endured torture. The nation will not forget their sacrifice," he tweeted.
