EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

The Indian markets were trading higher in Friday's volatile session, lifted by gains in public sector banks and IT stocks.
The S&P BSE Sensex rose 250 points to 35,100 levels, and the Nifty50 index hovered around the 10,350-mark. Infosys (up 6%) and TCS (up 4%) were the top Sensex gainers. On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 3%) was the top laggard.
The trend among Nifty sectoral indices was positive, led by Nifty IT index, up 3.3 per cent.
In the broader market, the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap indexes gained over 0.8 per cent.
Results today
Today, a total of 247 companies, including ITC, Coal India, and Glenmark Pharma are scheduled to announce their March quarter earnings.
According to analysts, ITC is expected to post up to 14 per cent decline in its cigarette volumes due to hike in excise duty and Covid-19 induced lockdown. READ MORE
