CBSE 10th and 12th exams cancelled; Class 12 students can opt for exams to be held later
The Centre further informed that the students will be given an option to write the CBSE Board examination if they want to.

NEW DELHI: The Centre on Thursday informed the Supreme Court that the remaining exams of CBSE class 10 and 12 will not be conducted. The Centre further informed that the students will be given an option to write the CBSE Board examination if they want to. For those students who do not want to appear for the examination, the performance of the last two exams will be considered to grant them marks.
The Centre told SC that the exam date for CBSE class 12 students who want to write the exam will be decided when the atmosphere becomes conductive. Also, Centre said that it will be the central authority to take a call on the conducive environment to hold CBSE board exams.
SC said that it will release a comprehensive order tomorrow i.e., June 26, 2020. SC asked Centre to submit their proposal for cancelling remaining exams for class 10 and giving option to class 12 students to take exam.
CBSE has informed SC that the Board will release a fresh notification to quash earlier decision to conduct the class 10 and 12 examinations.

The details of assessment for those students who are not taking the exams will be released by July 15. The decision of cancelling the CBSE exams has taken after many state governments expressed their concern over conducting the exams, Centre told SC.
CBSE on May 18 had released the date sheet for pending class 10 and 12 examinations. The CBSE Board exams were scheduled to be held from July 1 to 15, however, the exams have been cancelled in view of the rising number of Covid-19 cases across the country.
