Assam Board AHSEC HS Class 12th Result 2020 LIVE Updates: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, AHSEC declared the results of Higher Secondary (class 12) examination on Thursday, June 25. The Commerce stream has the highest pass percentage with 88.18 per cent, followed by Science- 88.06 per cent. The Arts stream has the least pass percentage at 78.28 per cent. Abhinash Kalita from Science topped with 486 marks securing 97.2 per cent.
Nearly 2.34 lakh students who had appeared in the Higher Secondary examinations can check the results through the website ahsec.nic.in. If students unable to check result through website- ahsec.nic.in, they can download the board’s official app- ‘Upolobdha’.
To check the result via SMS, students need to type Assam12<space>rollnumber and send it to 56263 and they will get their result as an SMS alert.

Commerce stream students had the best passing percentage of 87.59 in 2019 followed by Science where the passing percentage was 86.59 and Arts had the least passing percentage at 75.14.
Assam's Baksa district also performed incredibly well in the AHSEC exams, recording 85.36 pasing percent in Arts stream, Baksa 92.56 in Commerce stream and 95.44 in Science stream.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal wished the students luck for their future and acknowledged the efforts put in by the parents and teachers in helping the students perform well in the board exams.
The AHSEC results were declared earlier today, but any students who are yet to check their grades can do it by visiting board's official website - ahsec.nic.in and follow the directions mentioned here.

Sivasagar tops in science stream with a pass percentage of 95.97 per cent. Kokrajhar has the least pass percentage at 70.04 per cent
In commerce, even though Chirang (37 stuents), West K Anglomg (one student only), and Majuli (27 students) have given 100 per cent result, Sivasagar has got 95.50 per cent pass percentage. Hailakandi has the least pass percentage at 69.08 per cent.
Darrang is the best performing district in Arts stream with a pass percentage of 89.07 per cent followed by Sivasagar at 88.66 per cent. Hailakandi is the least performing districts with 56.29 per cent.

While commerce might have the highest number of students passing the class 12 board exam, the top rank has been secured by a student from the science stream. The overall topper of Assam HS result 2020 is Abinash Kalita from Barpeta with 486 marks. In the arts stream, two students – Pubali Dekha from Darrang and Shraddha Borgohain from Nagaon have jointly topped Assam HS with 481 marks out of 500. In commerce stream, Krishna Maheswari from Dibrugarh has obtained rank 1 with 471 marks.
This HS result is best in the past three years for all three streams. Arts stream — despite showing good performance in the past three years — 78.28 per cent in 2020, 75.14 per cent in 2019 and 74.68 per cent in 2018, still remains the lowest performer of the year. In commerce, the pass percentage jumped from 84.64 per cent in 2018 to 87.59 per cent in 2019 and 88.18 per cent in 2020. For the science stream, too the jump has been from 85.74 per cent in 2018, 86.59 per cent in 2019, and 88.06 per cent in 2020
