EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

The Indian markets were fluctuating between minor gains and losses in Thursday's afternoon deals ahead of the expiry of June series derivative contracts.
The S&P BSE Sensex hovered near 35,780 levels, down 44 points, having earlier plunged to as low of 34,500 levels. The Nifty50 index reclaimed the 10,300-mark. ITC (up 2%) was the top Sensex fainer, followed by Bajaj Auto and IndusInd Bank (both up 1%).
Among individual stocks, Canara Bank dipped 5 per cent as its losses widened during March quarter of FY20 (Q4FY20). Bharti Infratel also declined after the company pushed the deadline for completion of merger with Indus Towers by over two months.
Majority of the Nifty sectoral indices were trading in the green, led by Nifty FMCG index, up 1.1 per cent.
In comparison, the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap indexes were trading flat with a positive bias.

Results today
