
Assam Board AHSEC HS Class 12th Result 2020 LIVE Updates: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, AHSEC declared the results of Higher Secondary (class 12) examination today at 9 am. he Commerce stream has the highest pass percentage with 88.18 per cent, followed by Science- 88.06 per cent. The Arts stream has the least pass percentage at 78.28 per cent. Abhinash Kalita from Science topped with 486 marks securing 97.2 per cent.
Nearly 2.34 lakh students who had appeared in the Higher Secondary examinations can check the results through the website ahsec.nic.in. If students unable to check result through website- ahsec.nic.in, they can download the board’s official app- ‘Upolobdha’. To check the result via SMS, students need to type Assam12<space>rollnumber and send it to 56263 and they will get their result as an SMS alert.

Last year, Commerce stream students had the best pass percentage of 87.59 per cent followed by Science where the pass percentage was 86.59 per cent and Arts students had the least pass percentage at 75.14 per cent.
A total of 91.55 per cent students cleared the Vocational stream exam successfully. A total of 222 students secured first division, second division- 529 students, third division- 18. Last year, the pass percentage was 89.42 per cent.
A total of 16,928 students secured first division, while 14,747 students got second division, and 3,172 passed with third division
A total of 88.06 per cent students cleared the Science stream exam successfully. Abhinash Kalita topped from Science with 486 marks (97.2 per cent). A total of 39,574 candidates appeared in the exam

Abhinash Kalita is the Science topper and the overall topper in the HS exam. The topper scored 486 marks (97.2 per cent).

Students can also check the result through the AHSEC result app. The mobile-based is available on Google Play. Students will have to download the app and follow these steps –
Step 1: Go to Google App Store
Step 2: Click on the application, find AHSEC result
Step 3: Log-in using the registration number
Step 4: Result will appear on the screen
Step 5: Download it, and take a print out for further reference.
The Assam Board had also taken strict measures to prevent cheating and other awkward activities during the examination hours. The board had mentioned some centres as ‘sensitive’ and made special arrangements on these centres. The CCTVs were also installed in all the centres to monitor the examination process.

The entire evaluation process was completed in May, and the council sent a communication to the state government mentioning that the board is ready to announce the results between June 20 to 25. “The final date will be announced by education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. We are waiting for his approval before announcing the result date officially,” he said.
The pass percentage of male students is 66.93 per cent whereas the female pass percentage is 62.91 per cent. Combined, the pass percentage of the examination stood at 64.60 per cent

“The council has completed 80 per cent of the evaluation process before lockdown announced. The evaluation process started from March 14, and re-commenced from April 22, after state government put evaluation centres under emergency service category,” said controller Pankaj Borthakur.
