62 more swab samples collected from Ganganagar

Mapusa: Sixty two more swab samples of residents of Ganganagar area of Khorlim were collected by health workers, taking the total number of samples collected to 260 after a barber was tested positive for COVID-19. The reports of 198 people tested earlier on Wednesday are awaited.   

On Thursday, health workers continued with its drive to collect swab samples of the residents of the locality wherein 62 samples were collected.

Besides collection of samples, movement of local residents continued to be restricted and locals preferred staying indoors.

Councillor Dipti Lanjekar informed that “On Thursday also samples were collected and people cooperated with the administration by staying indoors. We have requested them to stay indoors till reports are out.”

When contacted, Dr Cheryl D’Souza, health officer, Urban Health Centre, Mapusa, informed that “on Thursday we collected samples of 62 residents and sent them for testing. The reports of 198 samples which were sent for testing earlier are awaited”.

She further stated that “following receipt of reports will decide further action.”
