Coronavirus Cases Highlights: Delhi has crossed Mumbai's COVID-19 tally and has replaced the maximum city as the worst-affected city in the country.

Coronavirus Highlights : Coronavirus cases in India crossed 4.73 lakh mark today even as 57.43 per cent patients have recovered from COVID-19 so far. With the number of coronavirus cases rising in big cities, state governments are mulling to adopt strict measures to flatten the COVID 19 curve. In Delhi, an ambitious plan has been chalked-out for house-to-house screening in containment zones by June 30 and every house in the national capital will be screened by July 6. In Bengaluru, Karnataka government has stated that there is no “community transmission” in the state. Chief Minister BS B. S. Yediyurappa has asked people to follow COVID 19 guidelines or face a possible complete lockdown in Bengaluru. Markets in another Karnataka city, Mysore, have been closed. In a worrying sign, Bengaluru has recorded a doubling rate of 8 days compared to 18 for Karnataka and 19 for the pan-India average. In Guwahati, lockdown is on in areas that have Coronavirus infected cases.
Apart from Bangalore, coronavirus cases continue to rise in major cities like Delhi, Chennai, and Mumbai. Meanwhile, India reported yet another highest single-day spike of 16,922 new COVID19 positive cases in the last 24 hours. Total positive cases in India now stand at 4,73,105 including 1,86,514 active cases, 2,71,697 cured or discharged or migrated and 14,894 deaths, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data revealed.
Meanwhile, Delhi has crossed Mumbai’s coronavirus tally and has replaced the maximum city as the worst-affected in the country. While, Delhi’s coronavirus case tally is 70,390, Mumbai’s figures stand at 69,528. However, Mumbai has a higher positivity rate of 23.2 per cent as compared to Delhi 16.7 per cent. Apart from this, Delhi also has recorded fewer COVID 19 deaths – 2,365 compared to Mumbai’s 3,964.
