Students group organize virtual mock parliament to send migrants back home

VADODARA: A group of students named NIRBHAY organized a two-day virtual youth mock parliament to raise donations to send migrant workers to their hometown from Vadodara.
The event under the banner of ‘Vitark-Kshetra’ organized on June 22 and June 23 by 10 students from across the state witnessed participation from around 40 people from all over the country. The conference saw discussions on various topics like the secular structure of Indian Constitution, Uniform Civil Code, 42nd amendment to the Constitution and varied aspects related to the history of the Indian Constitution. All the topics were discussed and analysed with recommendations in great depth by applying legal aptitude, the organizers said.
“We will be sending five migrants to reach their hometown from Vadodara using the donation raised during the conference. The group will bear all costs including the railway fare, food requirements during their journey and the safety kits for their welfare,” said one of the organizers Shakti Matthews. He added that the group will also be providing food to the needy in some areas of Vadodara.
