Assam Board 12th result 2020 declared, girls outshine boys

GUWAHATI: Students bettered their performance in all three major streams of the Class 12 state board exam, results of which were declared at 9 am on Thursday.
A press statement issued by the board's secretary Manoranjan Kakati stated that besides the official website of AHSEC, www.ahsec.nic.in, the other 13 websites where the results will be available are- www.asssamresult.in, www.schools9.com, www.results.shiksha, www.newsnation.in, www.newsstate.com, www.indiaResults.com, www.iResults.net, www.EduAssam.com, www.vidyavision.com, www.exametc.com, www.ExamResults.net/assam/, www.jagranjosh.com and www.assamresult.co.in.
In Science, the pass percentage has improved from last year's 86.59 to 88.06 this year. The pass percentage in Arts and Commerce too recorded a rise from 75.14 percent to 78.28 percent and 87.59 to 88.18 percent respectively.
With 95.97 percent, Sivasagar district stood at the top of the district wise pass percentage tally, while Darrang (89.07) registered the highest pass percentage in Arts stream. In Commerce, Chirang, Majuli and West Karbi Anglong districts cent percent students passed the exam, but the number of board examinees were comparatively low in the three districts.
In Science and Arts, the performance was best in the last four years, while in Commerce, it has been the highest pass percentage since 2011.
In All three streams, girls outshone the boys with their performance. Among the regular candidates in Arts, the pass percentage of girls was recorded to be 85.02 percent while that of boys stood at 78.64 percent.
Pubali Deka from Patharighat HS School, Darrang has been joint topper with Shraddha Borgohain of Ramanujan Junior College, Nagaon in Arts. Both of them scored 481 marks out of 500.
Girls fared better than the boys among regular candidates in Commerce with a pass percentage of 93.85 percent. The pass percentage of boys in Commerce was recorded to be 89.55 percent. Krishna Maheshwari from Salt Brook Academy, Dibrugah is the topper in Commerce. Krishna scored 471 out of 500.
In Science too, girls stayed ahead of the boys with 94.33 pass percentage, while 91.09 percent boys passed in the same stream. Abinash Kalita from Anundoram Barooah Academy, Barpeta topped in Science stream.
In Vocational stream, the pass percentage improved from 89.42 percent to 91.55 percent this year.
